Top-100 Prospects

DOWNLOAD: Top 25 -April 24th, 2013

The Top-100 Prospects ranking is personally managed and updated by The Goalie Guild founder Justin Goldman. He defines a prospect as any goaltender that has started 25 NHL regular-season games or less and is under the age of 28. Once a prospect has started 26 NHL games, he graduates from the ranking and joins The Graduates monthly report, which is available for members only.

The Top-100 Prospects ranking is not compiled using advanced statistics. It is a personal projection of top-flight prospects that have the best odds of evolving into legitimate starting NHL goaltenders. A number of different non-statistical elements are taken into consideration each month, all of which are applied on a case-by-case basis for each goalie’s unique development path.

In November of 2012, The Top-150 was trimmed to the Top-100 when Goldman joined McKeen’s Hockey. This allowed him the opportunity to refine his definition of a prospect. As such, all UFA goalies, and any goalie aged 28+, was removed and added into the Hidden Gems report.
