Week 7: CHL Points Breakdown

Google Docs and new, revamped format edition

I normally publish the weekly Canadian Hockey League points updates from all drafted prospects and broken down by team as per these past posts:

For a complete explanation (and Week 1 results) please see the original post here.
Week 2 rankings: CHL Points Breakdown Week 2
Week 3 rankings: CHL Points Breakdown Week 3
Week 4 rankings: CHL Points Breakdown Week 4

While the information is handy enough, the format was not to my liking. It's best to keep the data available in central location instead of requiring to bookmark a bunch of old posts or do searches for the content.

So, instead of having the information available in a viewable format here, I decided to move it all to Google Docs spreadsheet. I've consolidated and added every week's points production on an individual tab for quick reference, while still keeping the groupings by NHL team, then CHL league, then by position within that league.

Drafted Prospects By Team

There are additional columns added in the spreadsheet now, mainly focused on goals. In addition to power play goals, there will be tracking on shorthanded, empty net, unassisted and even strength goals. In addition to that is the percentage of even strength goals of total production and the same for power play goals percentage of total production.

On that note, I've added another Google doc that will track all the 1995 Born Draft Eligibles (players born between Sept 16, 1994 - Sept 15, 1995, and their points production by Date). Each weekly update will be added in a tab at the bottom to have all the information available in one central document.

You want to see how your draft eligible player is performing on a weekly basis against his peers? It's all there.

'95 Draft Eligible players

I've also added a feature that will highlight all draft eligible players producing more than a point-per-game. As of Nov 5, four OHL and WHL players are over one point-per-game, while the QMJHL have 13 players above that mark.
